Important
10% recurring for 12 months is a modest rate for cloud hosting, but the 12-month duration on every referred customer's subscription gives real compounding value over a flat one-time payout. Direct enrollment (no network) is friction-free to join. No cookie window or minimum payout is documented, so timing and payment mechanics are unclear.

Product decomposition and pricing read from https://www.digitalocean.com/partners/referral-program, https://www.digitalocean.com/pricing.
Researched 24 August 2026.
Attribution window, payout terms and approval time researched on August 26, 2026.
Apply link https://www.digitalocean.com/partners/referral-program returned 404 on 27 September 2026 and was removed. The programme may have moved; the page now points at the route we do know.
Apply link found on digitalocean.com's own navigation on 27 September 2026, under a link reading "Affiliate Program", and the page it opens describes the programme.
Confirmed on 27 September 2026 via https://www.digitalocean.com/affiliates and https://www.digitalocean.com/legal/affiliate-program-agreement that the program runs through the AWIN network (signup link points to https://ui.awin.com/merchant-profile/123996), which lists a 30-day attribution/cookie window. Self-referral is prohibited, no customer status is required to apply, and a clawback clause exists for fraudulent/canceled transactions, all per the affiliate program agreement. Approval: applications reviewed by DigitalOcean, decision typically within 30 days.
The affiliates page's own body copy on September 27, 2026 read "sign up with the link below to join the program via the CJ (Commission Junction) affiliate network," but the button beneath that text goes to https://ui.awin.com/merchant-profile/123996, an AWIN merchant profile, not a Commission Junction one. This looks like leftover copy from an older version of the page rather than a real second network; the network field keeps AWIN since that is where the live signup link and merchant profile actually point.
Payment schedule and minimum payout are not published on DigitalOcean's own affiliate pages. Both were confirmed on September 27, 2026 as AWIN's network-wide default terms, which apply to DigitalOcean's program because it runs on AWIN: publishers are paid twice a month by default per https://www.awin.com/gb/how-to-use-awin/introduction-to-publisher-payments, and the network minimum payout is $20 (publisher-adjustable) per https://www.awin.com/us/news-and-events/publisher-training/understanding-the-payment-process. Payment delay (holding period) and payout form are addressed only vaguely in the affiliate program agreement, which defers specifics to non-public Program Policies and the AWIN account interface, so both remain null.
Read, and not published
DigitalOcean’s own material was read on these and says nothing. That is the answer: a program that does not state a term is not bound by one.
Payment delay
Payout form
Not asked yet
Nobody has looked for these, so nothing is claimed about them either way — not that DigitalOcean publishes them, and not that it does not.

The re-verification note

We read DigitalOcean's terms on 2026-08-22. Programs change a rate, a cookie window or a payment threshold without announcing it — we re-read them and send one note a week saying what moved.

One note a week, every figure dated and linked to its source. Unsubscribe in one click; we never sell or share the address.
